Product Description
Optional Friday Bus Tour of Pyramid Lake and Museum. This will happen at the same time as the Truckee River Walk and is offered for those who would prefer this activity instead. This is for a live view of the lake in our virtual presentation “Protecting the Desert: Surviving: The Story of the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout” that was given before the weekend. The trip is an hour each way with an hour to explore at the lake museum. Visitors can learn more about the lake's fascinating history and its native inhabitants, the Paiute Indian tribe. Learn why the Paiute people hold the lake and the surrounding area as a sacred place. It includes an informative talk by museum director Billie Jean Guerrero. The lake also has a breeding ground for one of the largest American White Pelican colonies and is a certified National Wildlife Refuge.
In the event not enough people sign up, your money will be refunded.
